A Little About Us
First, Sage Brush Gun Dogs would like to thank-you for taking time to visit our website.
As with many, my first experience with hunting dogs was the Labrador Retriever some 25 plus years ago, I was introduced to the German Short Haired Pointer 14 years ago and loved the breed from the get go. I purchased my first two Shorthairs 8 years ago from a very good bloodline and was very happy with them, had the dogs trained and off we were. I wasn't born with this passion it developed over quite a period of time an it has now become a true passion of mine to train and raise the highest quality pups possible.
We make every attempt to test our dogs in NAVHDA and AKC, we believe pedigrees speak volumes of a dogs potential, however we also believe breeding dogs themselves should be tested as to their abilities. We do not have Kennel Dogs all our dogs gets plenty of one on one attention daily and have a 1/2 acres fenced in area to run and play. We also have a 2 acre fenced field to work the young dogs.
We always welcome visitors by appointment and have a facebook page in addition to this website to keep our clients and those interested in what we are up to.
We offer Gun Dog Training, Puppy Headstart and Obedience, from March through October. Our training program is geared toward the foot hunter. I don't provide Field Trial Training or Hunt Test, with the exception of preparing a dog for the NAVHDA Natural Ability test. We offer training for all breeds.
For those who are interested in AKC testing I can put you it touch with several good Trial trainers.
